Comstock Resources entered a $450 million Haynesville shale drilling venture with Jerry Jones, the company’s majority stockholder, effective 1 September 2026. Under the arrangement, a partnership owned by the Jones family will fund 85% of drilling and completion costs for 18 Western Haynesville wells and 80% of costs for nine Legacy Haynesville wells that Comstock will drill and complete over the following 12 months

Once the Jones family partnership achieves a 15% return on its investment, 50% of its interest in the wells will revert to Comstock
