Valeura fast-tracks Southeast Asian project: First oil now on the cards for early Q2 2027
What happened
Valeura has accelerated its Wassana redevelopment and moved installation of the central processing platform earlier, with a related rig charter notified for the autumn schedule. The company says the CPP installation is now planned for October and the drilling contractor was asked to start charter on November 1, creating immediate mobilisation and vessel demand in the Gulf of Thailand. Watch whether follow-on satellite tie-ins and the additional drilling schedule keep pushing more work into the same mobilisation window
Why the category manager should care
Treat this as real near-term demand that will compete for rigs, vessels and mobilisation resources in SE Asia and should be modelled against P&A schedules
