DeepOcean deploys robotics for diverless subsea tie-in at North Sea oil & gas development
What happened
DeepOcean executed a subsea construction and diverless tie-in using ROVs and a proprietary tie-in tool on the Teal West development, completing installation of a flexible production riser, flowline and umbilical to the FPSO. The operation replaced the need for divers and was followed by commissioning from a second offshore construction vessel. Watch whether operators adopt the same diverless approach elsewhere and how that shifts vendor FAT and mobilisation needs
Why the category manager should care
Treat the completed diverless tie-in as operational evidence that shifts scope risk from human dive crews to vendor tool uptime and FAT performance
Key facts
- ROV-based diverless tie-in executed
- Installation included flexible production riser, flowline and umbilical
- Connected to FPSO Anasuria in ~90m water depth
