TGS fires the starting gun on seismic reprocessing project in Africa
What happened
TGS has started a broad 2D seismic PSDM reprocessing program over São Tomé and Príncipe lines, applying modern workflows to improve imaging. A priority subset of lines will be delivered within seven months and final products are expected in Q3 2027, which can speed operators’ subsurface decisions. Watch if operators use the new images to accelerate farm-outs or to firm drilling schedules
Why the category manager should care
Treat the reprocessing as an operational de-risk step that can make certain prospects move faster from evaluation to drilling decisions
Key facts
- Full reprocessing of 14,651 kilometres of 2D lines
- Priority subset deliverable within seven months
- Final products expected in Q3 2027
