Southeast Asian infill drilling campaign yields oil uptick with two wells now online
What happened
Jadestone completed two infill wells off Malaysia and brought them into production, materially boosting field output. The second well was an extended-reach well with a long horizontal reservoir section and used the NAGA 8 rig booked for a four-month program starting in March. Watch whether the operator moves the conditional third well into a firm drill slot, which would sustain drilling support demand
Why the category manager should care
Treat the campaign as a real, near-term demand driver for rigs, completions and support services because the first two wells materially increased production and prompted a contingent third well
Key facts
