Green hydrogen back in the North Sea energy mix
What happened
Dutch and UK R&D programs continue advancing offshore green-hydrogen and platform-reuse concepts even though large demonstration projects were scaled back. The H2DO study is exploring a midsized offshore hydrogen facility and platform-reuse pathways, which makes conversion an operationally real alternative to full removal in some cases. Watch whether these studies progress to demonstrator procurement and whether conversion scopes appear in RFQs
Why the category manager should care
Treat platform-reuse as an operationally credible option for impacted assets and prepare RFQs/contracts to accept conversion bids
Key facts
