OneSubsea nets 'one of industry's largest umbilical contracts to date'
What happened
OneSubsea won a very large umbilical contract to deliver a steel tube umbilical system for the Kutei North Hub development. The award includes engineering, procurement and manufacture of about 94.6 kilometres of umbilical and a single continuous 30-kilometre length that needs specialized carousel capacity, which creates real manufacturing, storage and heavy-lift dependencies ahead of offshore installation. Watch whether suppliers publish concrete factory-acceptance and carousel dates and whether follow-on wells and FPSO works lock in firm mobilisation timelines
Why the category manager should care
Treat this as a firm demand on subsea manufacturing and carousel capacity that will restrict short-term buyer flexibility for similar packages
