Saipem wins $1 billion contract for Eni and BP's recently sanctioned project
What happened
Saipem won a roughly $1 billion contract to deliver engineering, fabrication and installation of about 180 km of rigid pipelines and subsea facilities for a newly sanctioned Angolan deepwater development. The work will be fabricated at Saipem’s Ambriz yard and use construction vessels for a campaign that spans multiple years, making the award operationally real for yard capacity and vessel allocation. Watch yard mobilisation schedules and construction-vessel timing that will gate other deepwater projects in the same region
Why the category manager should care
Treat this award as a capacity sink: fabrication and vessel time are being consumed regionally, which tightens supplier availability for comparable APAC projects
